How about this? My back was really hurting me today, drove up to Rensellear Polytechnic Institute in Troy NY, 4 hour round trip, nice tour but super hot, so glad to train inside in AC tonight.
1) Instead of "Heel" and "Place" simply heel her unto the boards (you can step up there with her) and then do an AS at the end of the Place Boards towards the camera. Your leash handling is excellent and you are extremely cognizant of your feet placement + the leash position at all times. Remember to do the "Stand" verbal command as your right hand comes in front of her face (which is the Stand hand signal), remember to do the 'set' on her withers BEFORE you command "Stay" and while you are in heel position (stand up tall and straight).
When you command "Stand" with the slight pull of leash under the chin, palm up to the sky, then the right hand goes in front of the dog's face, thumb to the sky, palm toward the dog, about 4" away. In time, simply giving the Stand command and the hand signal, the dog will do the Kick Back Stand. To train the dog to do the Kick Back Stand, start the dog on an edge so they are forced to 'kick back' so they don't fall off the edge. Make sense?
