I am just delighted with this video and your perfect bowtie lines. YES, you did that Right Turn perfectly when you caught yourself doing it incorrectly!
You do know that with these lines, you can use the outside lines and do 4 Left Training Turns, then 4 Right Turns, then 4 Right About Turns, etc? The more precise you are with your own mechanics, the more Sofie (who is attached with a leash and really has no options), the better and faster Sofie learns she is master of her own comfort by choosing to remain in correct Heel position. What we want to get away from is you having to drag her with her constant lagging. So, by doing precise turns, you can 'catch' her doing the turns well, that is in correct Heel position as you are working her, so you CAN give her a verbal 'marker' of "Yes" or "Atta girl" or simply smile at her - while continuing to work her - so she earns praise for doing the right thing which is her reward. This is really important for you to do as it also bonds the two of you together doing the work where Sofie earns praise and your delight in her which makes her want to do the work well EVEN more. It's a Catch - 22. The more the dog senses your delight in their correct choices (especially while heeling), the more the dog wants to work FOR you and WITH you. THAT is what we are working to achieve this week so the next week of Lesson 5 is a huge success.
