  1. Still trying to get control while I put my finger in her ear. Roxanne wanted to see her from the left side. Nancy

  2. This angle helped me greatly to see what us happening.

    Progress.
    Pointers.

    1) You need to get the collar ALL the way up by her neck above the jowls of her skin. That gives you MUCH more control.
    2) Randomly, cease any verbal praise. Just do Setup, Conditioned Relaxation, let go.
    3) You are going to need to "Out!" her periodically for that continued fussing and turning away. She's avoiding the work.
    4) You need more height to have effective control of her head once you "Square up." Will text you a link for outdoor long Plato Board to use ON TOP of your K-9 boards.
    5) Unknowingly, you are putting the dowel INTO her mouth and making it harder for her to grasp SHE needs to move forward. Watch the first 3 videos and you will see you are moving your right hand back toward her to put dowel within her reach. Nope. Lock your right arm where you know it is the 1" reach for her, command "Fetch " and use immediate ear pressure until SHE moves forward to put her mouth on dowel. Then EC pressure is gone, as is SetUp, and Conditioned Relaxation occurs.

Until she understands the EC pressure can be turned off by her choosing to obey a known command (mouth on dowel), she will fight doing the required work.

Just those few changes will help greatly . Asking Nate and Alice what size DB they have for their Deb dogs as their dogs are about the same size as Sofie.

    Remember to breathe.

  4. Roxanne, what do I do if she refuses to open her mouth? I think Stephanie said to brush her teeth. Correct?
