She is moving forward but not opening her mouth. She is 'ear' shy because of the soreness. The shotgun shell approach will work better for her as there will be NO thumb in her ear.
1) BUT, she HAS TO BELIEVE YOU today that the "Fetch" command = put her mouth on dowel now. 2) Stephanie will coach you through this today, BUT you MUST remember that the Set-up (even through this is a slightly different Set-up) remains consistent. 3) NO pressure AT all until the "Fetch" command is issued with dowel presented 1" away. The left arm/hand WITH the shot gun shell moves forward, WITH PRESSURE, driving her forward as the right arm remains locked at the 1" position. 4) Will she make noise? Probably. 5) Will she avoid? Yup. 6) YOU MUST HAVE HER FOLLOW THROUGH WITH HER MOUTH ON DOWEL 5 TIMES IN A ROW TODAY, WITH PRESSURE AS NEEDED. 7) Patience, CCC and a mindset of 'Sofie you WILL do this no matter what' is necessary.
You are almost at the place in the sequencing where she understands SHE controls the 'pressure' by obeying = no pressure, or failing to obey = pressure.
