A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s) and their dog. Let the journey begin.
I expect you to have to use pressure until Sofie believes its her wisest choice to move forward to put her mouth on DB. She is beginning to believe you, just not 100%. Yet.
The smaller chain toggle collar WILL allow you a much tighter grip. Also, by the time her new toggle chain collar arrives, her ear will be healed and you can go back to the EC IN the ear.
For now, you are gaining fluidity of mechanics as you work Sofie. Sofie is gaining understanding that this "Fetch" training is NOT going away. All good stepping stones to success.
And please cease 'fixing' her Sit on Plato Plank. Simply bump her with your left shoulder, allow her lose her balance, and she will straighten herself up. You are coddling her, as if she's a helpless infant, and every 'fix' YOU do trains her YOU will fix her which robs her of the choice to take responsibility for her position. So, you are handicapping her understanding. Stop it. She CAN take responsibility for her Sit position, but you need to shift your mindset and automatically straightening her Sit. She's able to do better, much better. And in an odd way, her default into sloppy Sits, knowing you will 'fix' her (cause you have trained her to believe you will 'fix' her) IS avoidance behavior.
Interesting. OK. I can bump her a bit with my left shoulder but crazy that it is still healing! I saw your photos of today's trials of your group. Congratulations to all!!
