A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s) and their dog. Let the journey begin.
No, not doing anything wrong with Sofie. She is a very soft dog and not used to anyone else handling here. That is not Sadie's experience nor is it Sadie's temperament. A soft dog actually takes a MORE skilled handler than a dog like Sadie.
Nancy, cease doing that right turn 'swing' with your left foot as you turn. Jim, cease stepping to where the dog is, that dog is do Halt to where you are.
Jim, the right arm bent is providing less than stellar leash communication, Nancy sometimes you have the dreaded 'Balloon Disease' with Sadie.
Amazing how hard it is to work another dog this first time of switching dogs, isn't it? And equally amazing that with less than 10 minutes of working each other's dogs, with Stephanie's excellent constant coaching/instruction, these two dogs CAN work for another KMODT handler.
It was great working Sadie. She was much quicker to follow my lead I do believe. Made me wonder if I am doing something wrong with Sofie??
