A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s) and their dog. Let the journey begin.
Hi Roxanne, I was able to take Sofie this morning to practice some more with medium distractions, longe line, different field. She is still playing with the line?? Will try to do the test this evening before we go to the graduation party. Nancy
I have no issues with what I see in this video, Nancy. Your mechanics, other than your initial MONSTOR HUGE GIGANTIC step (please take a normal step length), are excellent in this video. You move briskly, with purpose and intention, your head is up looking where you are going (other than when paying attention to the line around Sophie's legs which is critically important you do so), your turn footwork is great (told you you would get it), and your hand movements when you do make a correction are minimal and small. One of the reasons Sophie is biting at the LL is she attributes the collar correction (because after that moment all she see's is your back moving away from her rapidly) to the LL. EXACTLY what we want her to believe. We will address working her in HIGH distraction levels when you return. Stellar Week 1 LL work, Nancy, STELLAR!
