A place to learn a new language, the Koehler Method of Dog Training, which is an entire language of communication between owner(s) and their dog. Let the journey begin.
These videos are substantially better than last Sunday when you tried it for the first time! I think this is VERY good progress! And now that you know that you don't need to have Sofie hold the dowel for 2 minutes, then we are on the right track.
-- Make sure you say "Fetch" AS you put the dowel at her mouth, not after. -- I saw that you weren't doing the "Give" once she relaxed. As soon as she relaxes her head, you need to do the "Give" and get it out of her mouth. This will help her have a more positive interaction with the work.
Good progress, your mechanics are better, Sofie is somewhat accepting the dowel. However, the Lesson1 EXAM is to be done in HIGH distractions. You and Sofie will need that to be successful in Week 2.
